The Terrorist

About a year ago I started looking for a pet, I really wanted a cat but S is allergic so we (I) searched for a dog. Every few days I'd check petfinder to see what there was, occasionally I would send an email inquiring about an animal, but nothing ever came of those contacts and it wasn't the right time for us to welcome a pet into our house anyway. One grey day in October I came across a timid, white dog named, Divinity, and her posting said "URGENT". I emailed about her, found out she was 9 months old and had lived in the shelter for the majority of her life, her time was running out and she needed a home ASAP. I had to have her. There was no way this sweet, little dog wasn't going to live because no one wanted her, I wanted her! S and I went to dinner that night to chat about it and thankfully, he agreed we would at the least foster this dog until we found her a permanent home.
She quickly went from 45 pounds to 65 pounds...
...and we never did end up finding a permanent home for her because we just decided to keep her for ourselves. We had to change her name from DIVINITY (how awful) to Sunday!

Don't let her cuteness fool you...

exhibit #1- her 1/2 day old bed

exhibit#2- my running shoe (at least they're still run-able)

Exhibit #3- *tear*

Add three pairs of sandals and my favorite peep toe pumps, and she has ate a lot of $$!! It is hard to stay mad at this crazy, creature for too long though...

Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

Cause let me tell you, I sure have! Has this been the longest "winter" in Seattle history, or is it just me? It's almost JUNE. JUNE!!! It is starting to get a little old, starting to wear on me a bit, why don't we hitchhike to Mexico. Who's in? I actually talked to S about moving to a different state (or country) with a little more sunshine and surprisingly, he was pretty keen on the idea! It won't happen for a while though. We have to live in our house for at least three years or pay back the first time home buyer tax credit and let's face it, that is just not going to happen. Oh rain, hopefully you'll go away soon and we can all play outside and be cheerful!

On a more positive note, we're going to see David Gray and Ray LaMontagne in Colorado at the end of the summer!!!! This is my DREAM concert, I cannot wait! They're playing at the Red Rocks Ampitheater, I've heard it's amazing there. I can't wait to sit on a blanket listening to their eerily beautiful voices, drink wine, gaze at the stars and rock formations and be in lyrical paradise. Sail away with me honey.

A little Sunday Lovin' for your 3-day weekend! My dirty, little K9! Much love to all!

Six Months Ago Was The Day After Thanksgiving...

Six months ago today the most amazing man I know agreed to spend his life with me and I am so lucky to share mine with him. Waking up to S makes my day bright, when he walks in the door after a long day at work, my heart still flutters a bit. I love you, S, thank you for being so wonderful to me!

The Country Up Above

Thank You, Canada.

There is something about Steve Nash, I'm not sure what it is, but I have really enjoyed watching him run around the basketball court lately. Maybe it's because in the last couple weeks I've been watching him nonstop (not by choice, we only have 1 TV). Maybe it's because even with one eye shut he still played like a BBall God. Or maybe if you saw this guy walking down the street you'd think nothing of him, but on the court he is mesmerizing. Whatever it is, he is 1 out of 2 of my current celebrity crushes and I am rooting for the Sun's to win it all! Step aside Jason Taylor, you have been officially replaced!

Canadian #2- Drake.

He just wants to find your love, that's all he wants. How could you not want to give it to him? I really want to go to Summer Jam...and how old am I again, 17???? Seriously, Pamela, get it together.

S and I were talking about attraction, and how it seems females are often attracted to men who aren't typically "good looking", but so sexy in some weird way. Hence, Steve Nash. It must be the status and success while men want curvy bodies and big lips. I love that I can talk about these subjects with my man, he is the greatest.

He has celebrity crushes as well which include: BOMBSHELLS who look nothing like me :)

Let's Fast Forward 35 Years

Last weekend I had the utmost pleasure of going to visit my beloved Grandma in Sun City, AZ. My Grandma isn't the typical, cookie baking, porcelain doll collecting, big kisses on your cheek kind of lady. She is AWESOME and more like my BFF than my Gma, I love that. We exercised at the community walking pool daily, (my sister and I being the youngest by about 40 years), laid by her pool in the afternoon with jumbo glasses of Chardonnay, and talked immigration laws over dinner, so typical. We went to a little Italian restaurant one night with rockin' live music and accidentally ordered 5 carafe's of wine between 4 people...oopsie daisy. We ended up getting lost on a 1.5 block walk home and a few laughs and concerns later, we found our way with M's drunken, directional ability. At any rate, we had the most wonderful time dancing away with each other (and the occasional old man), talking about life and hearing Grandma's practical logic that must come with age, because I certainly don't have that yet. Hopefully someday I'll know what this crazy life is all about. I wish I could see her every weekend, I wish I could have martinis with Grandma whenever life isn't going smooth, I am so lucky to have her.

To live in Sun City, AZ, you must be at least 55 years old, anyone under 19 isn't allowed to visit for more than 30 days in a row, and children are not allowed. There are yoga, pilates, water aerobics, golf, tennis, and any other kind of class you could ever dream of! I am more excited than ever to turn 55 and move into recreational heaven!!!! It was 100 degree's both days which was so perfect, the heat made me feel so healthy and alive. I strongly believe we all need a little more vitamin D here. Not to mention, the houses are about $100K...not too shabby. AARP, anyone?

Hello Seattle

Hello Virtual World.

I'm blogging because apparently, I have nothing better to do with my time. That may be because it's impossible to walk outside without getting drenched or whip lashed by the wind gusts. And again, why do I live here? I suppose because for 50 days out the of the year it's sunny and beautiful, the people are gracious, the water is pristine, and by the end of summer we actually ache a bit for the orange leaves and crisp air. BUT, when it's almost June and feels like November, it's difficult to remember those reasons. My Arizona suntan is fading, FAST! Seattle Suntan, I'm visiting you after work today.

I had a dreaded Dr's appointment today... I'm always healthy, why do I need to go to the Doctor anyway? The first thing she said to me was, "You've lost 14 pounds in the last year, is everything OK?". My first thought was, 'YES!!! How the heck did that happen?!'. She proceeded to order a Thyroid test. What? No, Dr., you plan a wedding, buy a house, try to fit into a wedding gown, and THEN diet for a Vegas vacation with some hot friends. You would lose 14 pounds too! Anyway, I'm absolutely positive my blood work will come back perfect with a $100 lab bill with the results! Better safe than sorry, right?
