Let's Fast Forward 35 Years

Last weekend I had the utmost pleasure of going to visit my beloved Grandma in Sun City, AZ. My Grandma isn't the typical, cookie baking, porcelain doll collecting, big kisses on your cheek kind of lady. She is AWESOME and more like my BFF than my Gma, I love that. We exercised at the community walking pool daily, (my sister and I being the youngest by about 40 years), laid by her pool in the afternoon with jumbo glasses of Chardonnay, and talked immigration laws over dinner, so typical. We went to a little Italian restaurant one night with rockin' live music and accidentally ordered 5 carafe's of wine between 4 people...oopsie daisy. We ended up getting lost on a 1.5 block walk home and a few laughs and concerns later, we found our way with M's drunken, directional ability. At any rate, we had the most wonderful time dancing away with each other (and the occasional old man), talking about life and hearing Grandma's practical logic that must come with age, because I certainly don't have that yet. Hopefully someday I'll know what this crazy life is all about. I wish I could see her every weekend, I wish I could have martinis with Grandma whenever life isn't going smooth, I am so lucky to have her.

To live in Sun City, AZ, you must be at least 55 years old, anyone under 19 isn't allowed to visit for more than 30 days in a row, and children are not allowed. There are yoga, pilates, water aerobics, golf, tennis, and any other kind of class you could ever dream of! I am more excited than ever to turn 55 and move into recreational heaven!!!! It was 100 degree's both days which was so perfect, the heat made me feel so healthy and alive. I strongly believe we all need a little more vitamin D here. Not to mention, the houses are about $100K...not too shabby. AARP, anyone?
