Book Worm

I love books. The way they smell, the way a new books crisp pages feel on your finger tips, the history of a used one and wondering where it's been and how it got to you. I would rather read a good novel than watch TV any day and it's always fun when an Amazon.com package arrives with your name on it! I just finished The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson and was so impressed. It took me awhile to get into it, but once I did, I was enthralled the entire time. If you're ever looking for a good thriller, I would highly recommend it and it's been on the NY Times Best Seller List for over a year, that has to say something. I am tempted to jump right to the sequel but have reconsidered and decided to give my brain a rest and fall into Dear John instead. I know, I know, so lame, but I have to read it, everyone needs a good love story once in a while and I was choosing between that and A New Earth. Not really in the mood for the latter...

My True Loves....I could lose myself in them over and over.

Although I spent much of the 3-day weekend with a book and glass of red wine or coffee in hand, we also did some major redecorating! Check out my new kitchen curtains and pendant light! With a little creative inspiration from my dear friend, Ali and Anthropologie, I think they are darling! S thinks they are ridiculous, but I don't care, I love them!

This is another addition I worked on yesterday. I never thought I would teach myself how to use a power drill (is that what it's called?), but I did and must admit, it was kind of exhilarating! Disregard the shelf of nonsense...we're trying to decide what to do with that corner of books and other...things.

Oh, three day weekend, you got a lot of work out of me but not much fun. The next one isn't until July, hopefully the rain will be long gone by then!
